The International Journal of Spermatology (IJS) deals with the human Spermatology. Spermatology is the branch of Biology dealing with the study of semen. Spermatology is classified within the sector of Physiology. The term shall not be confused with Andrology, the clinical subspecialty of the medical specialty of Urology.

The purpose of the IJS is the dissemination of the knowledge acquired from the study of human semen, throughout the World through the free access to this knowledge. It is intended to contribute in the setting of rules for the proper study of the human semen, the planning of actions to improve public health and facilitate the communication between scientists dealing with the human Spermatology.

IJS is an open-access peer-reviewed journal established for non-profit purposes. It is developed on the Open Journal Systems software. This means that the information published is freely available to everyone.
